About Me
As a certified trainer (Animal Behavior College), member of the APDT (Association of Pet Dog Trainers) and approved AKC (American Kennel Club) Evaluator for the Canine Good Citizen and S.T.A.R. Puppy Test, my mission is to teach you and your dog all essential skills that are needed to promote responsible dog ownership, good canine manners, trust and partnership that will last a lifetime. I have had dogs in obedience, rally, agility, and scent work training and am a dedicated volunteer and supporter of local and nationwide animal rescue organizations. My work with many different breeds of rescue dogs over the years has inspired my interest in dog behavior, in particular the effects of genetics and environment on dog cognition.
Having been a student of many different training philosophies both in the US and Germany, my training philosophy for your dog will be based on the LIMA (Least Intrusive, Minimally Aversive) training approach and will cover essential aspects of your dog’s needs which will need to be satisfied for training to succeed.
